The SHOCKSystem™ can be installed in a straight or bent configuration, allowing it to fit into strategic locations and squeeze into tight spaces.

THREE MAIN COMPONENTS
Combustors
A typical SHOCKSystem™ installation will consist of a number of SHOCKSystem™ combustors positioned along the boiler wall at strategic locations to affect the desired region(s) of the boiler.

Gas System
One or more valve panels, and accumulators will be positioned nearby the combustors at a centralized location to feed gases to the various combustors. Fuel and oxygen (if required) will be piped to the location of the accumulators from bulk storage located at a safe location outside the plant, easily accessible for refill.

Control System
The operation of the combustors is controlled by dedicated relay panel which in turn is controlled by a Programmable Logic Controller located for convenience in the plant control room.

INSTALLATION FLEXIBILITY
Configurations
A SHOCKSystem™ can be installed along any boiler wall unlike retractable sootblowers which generally are only installed along boiler side walls. The SHOCKSystem™ combustors can be configured straight or bent. The bent tube configuration requires less than 10 feet of space from boiler walls enabling installation along boiler front and rear walls. In comparison, a retractable sootblower can require as much as 55 feet of space from boiler side wall.

Required Space: SHOCKSystem™ vs. Conventional Sootblowers

Small Footprint
The SHOCKSystem™ can be installed in areas not accessible by conventional sootblowers. In some instances, conventional sootblowers cannot be utilized because insufficient space is available for the sootblower to extend outward from the boiler wall. In contrast, elbow sections may be employed in the design of the SHOCKSystem™ combustor so that it may be installed around obstacles or nested along a boiler wall depending on the space constraints.
