The tube-friendly cleaning effectiveness of the one SHOCKSystem™ replaces two to four sootblowers. Standard SHOCKSystem™ maintenance consists of spark plug and gas filters. Cleaning is performed while boiler is online.

OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE COSTS
Save Time, Money, Equipment
Traditional sootblowers use steam or compressed air which can significantly impact plant output and operating costs. Traditional sootblowers have limited cleaning range and effectiveness and have higher maintenance costs. Sootblowers can also cause tube leaks which lead to forced outages and significant tube leak repair costs.

The SHOCKSystem™ lowers plant operating and maintenance costs because it:
  • operates with low-cost fuels (such as propane) and low pressure plant air
  • omni-directional detonation wave cleans more effectively than traditional sootblowers
  • eliminates the need for high-maintenance retracting-lance equipment
  • does not consume steam or high pressure compressed air for its operation
  • is tube-friendly; does not cause boiler tube erosion (White Paper)
  • eliminates the need for manual cleaning during planned outages
  • has low maintenance cost due to no moving parts
  • lowers ID/FD fan power consumption
  • allows power plants to increase output while decreasing operating expenses

Cleans Tough to Reach Spots While Online
The non-line-of-sight cleaning ability of the blast wave is inimitable by the conventional sootblower jet. The SHOCKSystem™ is intended to function during normal boiler operations, thereby reducing the number and/or duration of plant outages required for cleaning otherwise inaccessible locations.

    Is Tube-Friendly
Due to lower entrained ash velocity associated with the blast wave, detonation cleaning results in less tube wear attributable to particle impact erosion. This translates to longer unit life and reduced number of unplanned outages. (Read: White Paper)

    Increases Plant Resources
The SHOCKSystem™ does not burden valuable plant resources such as steam or high pressure air supplies, resulting in significantly lower cost of operation.

    Easy Maintenance
Another advantage relative to conventional sootblower technology is that the SHOCKSystem™ has few moving parts because it does not need to retract in and out of the boiler. Maintenance consists of a spark plug and gas filters.

    Efficient, Low-Cost SolutionLow Maintenance:
Results from operations have shown application of the SHOCKSystem™ in various boiler regions to be equally efficient, if not more efficient, than conventional methods in controlling deposit accumulation, limiting plant outages and improving heat rate.
